INSTALLATION AND PERFORMANCE

Installation was straightforward, with the Enermax fitting easily into the PS bracket on my generic midtower case. An interesting feature of the PS is that the second fan is mounted on the bottom of the PS rather than in the front of the PS. The difference between the Enermax and a 300W Leadman/Powmax I was using in this system can be clearly seen below:

Once the PS is installed, the intake fan sits directly above the CPU and will logically provide better cooling.

Performance & Conclusion

This PS went into the following system:

I checked the voltages with both power sources using the SiSoft SandraSE mainboard information function, and there were no significant differences. This CPU is not a good overclocker, the highest boot I could get with the 300W PS was 11x110=1210. With this Enermax 350W PS I was able to get a boot at 12x105=1260 and was able to run the Sandra burn-in utilities for 15 minutes. I did not run any exhaustive stress tests at this speed.

Conclusion

The packaging and design show that this is intended to be the last PS you will need for a while. The 24 month warranty is also twice the normal warranty. The only real drawback is the price which sells at some places for upwards of $70, but Big008 has this for just $47.95 making it very difficult to go with any cheaper power supplies. Why not get the best.
