Philips MMS 305 Flat Panel Speaker System

Philips has made another entry into its growing PC peripheral product line with the MMS 305 speaker system.  Described by Philips as "Acoustic Surround Power", I was anxious to begin testing.  My initial reaction was mixed...aesthetically the speakers are impressive, but I had preconceived ideas about flat panel speakers and their quality.  At a retail price of ~$149 USD, I also needed to temper my expectations having recently worked with multiple higher-end Klipsch Promedia products.  Read on to see how the MMS 305's stand up to my testing...and change my notions about flat panel speakers.
