Antec Notebook Cooler

Author: Brian
Supplied By: Antec
Price: ~$39

Here's something you don't see everyday...a product that is designed to actively cool your pc notebook. I remember reading about a lawsuit by someone that sued a manufacturer because his laptop literally burned his, um, lap. Sounds painful and also like that user could have used this product (or a better sense of his surroundings before it got that hot!). The questions I thought of immediately when presented the opportunity to use this product were:

  • What size is the device?
  • How loud will it be with active cooling?
  • What will this do to my laptop's battery life?
  • How much will it actually cool?

Initial Impressions

The item was packaged well with styrofoam and protective wrapping inside. Once opened I found that it was indeed very thin and light. One thing a laptop user does NOT want is to add alot of weight to his/her laptop case.
