Stansell After you have decided which processor and motherboard you want to put in that power system you are building, you need to consider which power supply is right for you. There are some power supplies on the market that boast super power (along with a lot of noise) and there are some that are really quiet, but not as powerful. Antec says you can have both with the Antec Phantom 500 power supply. Let's look at the Phantom a little closer. Antec says "with Antec's new Hybrid Fan technology, provides awesome power while continuing to offer the user an extremely quiet computing environment. Phantom 500 operates completely silently until its internal temperature reaches a user selected temperature, whereupon the fan turns on to balance high power performance with quiet computing." So we have a quiet power supply with the power user in mind.
