Following in the footsteps of it's older siblings, the Performance TX offers the same style of opening the case using a handle, however instead of just one handle we now have two. The top handle is lockable to prevent entry into the case without the key. Inside the case, I found the included cable for the power supply, the manual, a box with an assortment of mounting screws, and the optional cables to be used with the modular power supply.
The case
accommodates up to (6) 3.5" drives through the use of two separate drive
cages. The cages are mounted in the
front of the case. The drive cages are removed by sliding a lever that releases each cage from it's supports and
sliding the cage out of the case.
Installation of the motherboard was very easy. The front I/O panel wires were easy to work with when installing the motherboard. All in all, the installation process was simple. And the location of the drive cages to the motherboard was very convenient; however the top two drive bays may be hard to reach without some longer IDE cables depending on your motherboard.
Taking a look at the modular power supply we see that each of the cables we choose to use plugs into a socket similar to the power connectors on your motherboard. Simply plug in the cables you need and you're set. This helps to reduce cable clutter inside your case which also increases airflow.
