I am the first to admit I am a newb to the case mod scene, but recently began my journey with the Antec TriLight LED fans. Starting with a standard Antec 1030B tower case, I now have the beginnings of a case that makes non-computer enthusiasts (and also many geeks) shake their heads in puzzlement. What I mean by that is people now take a second look at the case and think "Why in the world did he do THAT?"...."I don't get it"....and..."What's the point?". Well, we all know that the point is to be different (AND make people shake their heads at us) and this fan is a good start.

Specs: Design / Build Quality:

The first thing I noticed with the fans is that the wires are neatly braided, as seen in the pic below. This is nice for maintaining a clean, uncluttered appearance within the case. The power is supplied by a standard 4-pin adapter, which is much appreciated over a 3-pin motherboard connector that so many fans still come with. Keeping the load off of the motherboard is a good design plus. The yellow connector is a 3-pin that does connect to a fan header on the motherboard, allowing for rpm monitoring, if desired. The fan blades themselves are clear plastic. Overall build quality looks good and looks as good as the standard Antec fans many of us already have in our cases.

Appearance: So what do they look like? Here you go:

Performance:

The cooling effectiveness of these fans are identical to the standard 80mm Antec fans they replaced in my case. Running at 2600 rpm and a quiet 30dB they are very quiet and provide great cooling. They are quiet enough that my cpu fan easily drowns them out and should not be a concern for anyone worried about adding excess noise to their case. My case temp is kept at a cool 21.0C with these two fans running as exhaust and another as an intake (room temperature of 21.5C).

Pros: Cons: Overall:

All I can say is WHY NOT?!? These are a great addition to make a boring pc case look better while adding additional cooling. Thanks to Antec for supplying the fan for review!
