What you get and what you need

The Baybus comes in the tube you see above and inside you have all you will need for using this device. Of course you will need to supply the fans, small flathead screwdriver, drill, a 1/4 inch drill bit and a wire stripper/wire cutter.

Included with the baybus is the template for drilling your holes to fit the lights and switches. You take one of your drive covers and place the template on the front of it. It has adhesive tape on each side so you simply remove the backing and stick the template on. I suggest driling the holes outside, or use a workbench and something to collect the debris because there will be a little mess afterwards. You can use one hand to hold the drive cover steady and the other to drill. That's what I did and I messed up my first attempt because the drill slipped. Best solution is to use at least something like a workbench and use a clamp to keep it steady, plus less of a chance of getting injured that way.

My case is one that has drive covers that have a plexi glass front on the cover, making it double thick. I tried that and it was just too thick, so I had to use one off another case I had which didn't have an additional front. It actually doesn't matter that much since whatever cover you have to use it'll look like part of the baybus.

Above you see the back of the cover I used. Notice where the drill went through and see those raised plastic lines. I had to use a pair or needle nose pliers to remove the access plastic so the baybus could fit through and I could secure it on the front with the included nuts and washers.

Once you get the Baybus secured to the drive cover, then comes the complicated part. But it's actually very easy. You'll need to connect the fans to the baybus and there are several ways to do that. You can use the wires coming from the fans. If so then you'll need to cut off the end and use a wire stripper to remove at least 1/8 of an inch of the protective plastic. Another option is to use at least 24 gauge wire to connect the fan to the Baybus. I had success using 3-4 pin adapters and stripping one end to use to connect to the baybus and the other to the fan. Plus this way gives you more length.

Depending on the length of wire you have you'll probably have to have the Baybus right at the spot it will install to connect the fans. Above you see where they go and it's pretty much self explanatory. From each fan you simply put the red wire where it shows you and the black wire where it points to. Each fan of course will have one red and one black wire. *Notice the slots for a small flathead screwdriver.

And above you see exactly where the wires go. Once each wire is in the slot, you use a *small flathead screwdriver to secure it. I suggest starting with just one fan at first, secure Baybus in case, attach the power connector to the power supply and turn your system on, just to be sure all is fine. If so then continue to connect the other fans.
