Continuing with the specs, above you see the side of the power supply and it's ratings. The lower is for this 550W version and notice the combined wattage of the +3.3v and +5v rails is 275 Watts! Adequate for todays systems is usually 200 watts and this puppy has 275 watts, this is darn good.

Ok, enough of the specs. this power supply is designed to give you far more than just good specs, it is designed to look good too. Check out the picture below and notice the cool brushed aluminum look. That I like and prefer it way over the typical steel cases most power supplies come in. Also notice that there aren't any annoying stickers on the side (aside from the usual specs) so if your case has a large enough window to show the power supply it will not look as tacky. Plus since aluminum is much lighter than steel, this helps to keep your total case weight down. Something for you Lan guys to take note of. ;)

And in the above picture you see the bottom and rear 80mm fans all with a classy looking gold fan grill. Now here is where this Coolmax sets itself off from others. It has 3 fans, not 1 or 2 that most have. Both fans suck air in while the 3rd rear fan sucks the hot air out.

Above you see the rear of the Coolmax when it's installed in my case. One good thing is it has an on/off switch which not all power supplies have, but should. To the right you see a red switch. That controls the fans and how quiet you prefer them. The settings are: L = Low, M = Medium and A for Auto, or temp controlled. Finally we have excellent control of the fans speed on a power supply. You can go silent which is auto and it'll only make the fans spin faster when the temps get higher and that's usually when things are noisy anyway. Or you can leave the fan on Low or medium. It's fun playing with each setting to see how the temps are.

As the review says, this Coolmax power supply has a tri led fan on the rear. Of course not many have the rear of their system showing but even if you don't you can still see the lights reflect off a wall. If your case is close to a wall anyway. Not a biggy, but a nice cool mod touch by Coolmax to try and satisfy modders. If anything it helps to light the rear of your case when you need to access it for something like plugging a device in a usb port.
