The Bottom
As you can see by the picture above it includes a Phase Change Pad. It's more clay-like than any heatpad so I had to peel it off as it easily crumbled. Being clay-like and thick I didn't want to even try it out. Anyway, what pc abuser would ever use anything but a good heatsink compound like arctic silver II or arctic alumina. We'll use alumina here because it's so much easier to clean up when changing heatsinks and works as well as arctic silver II.
It doesn't clip on like most heatsinks and instead it has a clip mechanism which uses a unique tension bar, much like what the motherbaord's ZIF socket uses. You simply insert it the same way as other heatsinks, but I did have to use a small screwdriver to guide the second and front clip(near the ram) and then just move the tension bar in place and that makes it all very secure. And it was very easy to install and then remove later *revised.
