Enermax 3.5" System Monitor Transfer Panel

With our system components getting more and more powerful once thing that is always a concern to us is heat. So what do we do. We add fans to bring in cool air and to exhaust hot air. Some of us really want to be sure we have enough fans so we add two or more fans in addition to the heatsink and power supply fans. Myself, I have five additional fans. In another case I had eight! But when adding so many fans this will create more noise.

So how can we control the noise? We can get low rpm fans. But then under load we may need the fans to move more air to properly keep things cool. So an ideal solution is to have a faster rpm fan but to control the speed. When simply surfing the net have the fans on a lower and more quiet speed but under load have them go faster.
