Mouse pads, what can one say about them? With the mod market going crazy right now everyone keeps coming out with new items. Now we are seeing acryilic(plexy glass) mouse pads. People are beginning to step away from the plain old boring cloth feeling mouse pads and enter a new domain. I remember back in the day when a mouse had a ball in it. Nothing was more irritating than having to clean the lint balls out of your mouse once a week in order for it to feel smooth and not skip on you. Now we have the optical mice so you don't have to really worry about that problem anymore though.

Specs...
- 1/4 Cast Acrylic
- Low profile feet
- Rounded/Beveled edges for finished look
- Textured surface for optical beam pick up

After my initial inspection of the Fragg Pad I was pleased with what I seen. It had nice smooth curvy edges, 5 padded feet on the bottom of it to keep the Acrylic from sliding all over your desk and a logo in the lower right corner of it. Pretty simple yet stylish looking. I really think that a applique on the bottom side of it would look really sweet. Never thought in your life you could mod a mouse pad could you?

I used the Fragg Pad for over a week, one thing I first noticed was the noise. The top is textured so that you can use optical mice on it. That texturing seems to cause noise when sliding the mouse across it. I'm use to the cloth styled mouse pads where there is virtually no noise so this was irritating at first but the longer I used it the less I noticed it.

After a week of use I noticed that the feet on the mouse seemed to be showing some wear. I use a Logitech MX700 and its barely a month old now and wasn't showing any wear on the feet until using this pad. It wasn't much but it was noticable and I'm sure it will reduce the life of the feet on the mouse. The texturing on the surface is really fine and I was quite pleased that the mouse did slide around rather smooth on this pad. I did flip it over on the and tried the mouse on the bottom side where the acrylic is untouched and found that the mouse didn't like moving on the untextured surface. So the texturing is there for more than one reason!

Overall Voyeur Mods has a very nice mouse pad. The noise isn't much but to me it was noticeable for only the first few days. We aren't talking 60mm Delta noise here so don't worry. :) The shape of it is very nice and you definately don't have to worry about it ever sliding around your desk! My next step with the Fragg Pad is to find a cool applique to put on the bottom!
I'd like to think the fine people at Voyeur Mods for sending us the Fragg Pad. If you would like to purchase one for yourself you may do so here.
