Silence Please!

Global Win Presents the "Quiet" CPU Cooling Alternatives

Having trouble hearing recently or perhaps your dogs seem to howl whenever your computer is on? Hearing a high-pitched sound even in your sleep and when away from your computer? There are other signs like your hair sticking straight up, grittng your teeth and anyone within a 5 mile radius asking you to please turn your computer off. Ok, maybe that last part was a slight exaggeration but aren't you tired of that extremely annoying loud frickin' fan on your heatsink? Can't heatsink makers make a quiet cpu cooler and one that does cool well? Well yes they can but the bad thing is most use one of those blazin' Delta fans to make their heatsink cool and look even better in reviews than it deserves. To me those too-loud fans are not an option, end of story!

At least some heatsink makers realize this problem and are starting to come up with alternatives. Global Win supplied us with three AMD cpu coolers so let's check them out shall we and see if they are a waste or a real quiet solution that still cools well. Above at the top we have the dual-fan Tak68, to the bottom left is the Cak-II 16 and to the bottom right is the Cak-II 68. *With most pictures you can click them to get a larger version.
