A Closer Look at the Cak-II 16/68

As mentioned before the Cak-II 16 and the Cak-II 68 have the exact same heatsink, just use a different fan. Notice the picture above. It is all one piece, the fins are not soldered to the bottom as is with most heatsinks and are instead "skived" or carved out. This insures better heat transfer than a comparable heatsink with fins soldered to the bottom. This way heat transfer is not interrupted by the solder. Not that soldering fins to the bottom is bad, but clearly when a heatsink like this is all one-piece it does tranfer heat better.

The sheath around the Cak heatsink is black-colored aluminum. The fans simply screw into the top part of the sheath as you can see by the picture above. And as you can see by the picture below the Cak has but a 1-prong clip. The heatsink is very small at 60 x 60 x 30mm and weighs 390g so it isn't a real problem. Unless your middle mobo catch is scrapped off of course. You will need a proper fitting flathead screwdriver to install this heatsink and the intstall or removal is very easy.

The bottom is very smooth and shiney. I couldn't see any visible imperfections which would interfere with heat transfer. Frankly this heatsink is tiny compared with most others but it's built very well and has cool looks to boot.
