| The KingWin KWI-450W:
A look into the contents KWI-450W box reveals the standard fare that comes with power supplies. The included pieces are: the power supply, a standard A/C power cord, and mounting screws.

One of the first things that I noticed about the KWI-450W was its abundant power connectors. This unit features one set of (4) 4-pin connectors and two sets of (3) 4-pin with (1) FDD connector. I've lots of drives and fans which demand a power supply that can provide the number of power connectors to support them - kudos to KingWin for putting in a couple of extra connectors. This unit also comes with the separate power connector to meet P4 compliancy. Looking at the box, I also noticed that the KWI-450W has an optional fan speed monitoring function which is now commonly found in many of the newer power supplies on the market. However, my test unit DID NOT have this. This is one feature that I would definitely have appreciated and do miss. One thing that helped ease the pain was the nice braided power cable. This has become a very common feature of newer power supplies helping make much of the cabling mess that used to occur in PC builds a thing of the past.

On a more positive note, this power supply also features three temperature controlled double ball bearing fans. Three fans would greatly help improve air movement within the computer system. The fact that the fans are temperature controlled means that you do not have to deal with unnecessary noise. At the back of the unit, we find that it comes with a power switch. The power switch may be one of the most common feature of a power supply that people take for granted. There are still many power supplies out there that, for some odd reason, still do not feature this simple yet critical component. The KWI-450W has a newer feature that not many power supplies have implemented, but should. There is a switch to control the fan speed for the unit which allows for an auto (temperature controlled) and two manual speed settings. This may be a feature that many consumers may appreciate should they desire added cooling over silence.

Before we head over to the test results, here's a few more pics with spec stickers found on the unit:
