Maxtop Signature Series Type IV Case
Author: Brian The last case I reviewed was a pure showoff item...transparent, glowing, and ultimately a "look at me, look at me!" case. This case provided by Maxtop is a bit more down to earth--more of a "ok, let's get things done, keep it cool, and oh let's throw in a few neat extras for you!". The Signature Series Type IV provides a few unique items such as the flip-up exhaust fan on the top, along with top mounted USB and audio connectors. Did I mention the 350W power supply and built-in handle yet? Initial ImpressionsThe case came double boxed and undamaged by good 'ol UPS. Styrofoam surrounded the plastic wrapped case and was in great condition. Inside the box was the case, along with the usual package of assembly parts (screws, motherboard stand-offs, etc).
The case itself is very light and easy to carry by the built-in handle. Styling is a conservative shiny black finish with silver accents. The flip-up exhaust, carrying handle, USB, and audio ports: The flip-up exhaust is activated automatically when you press down on the switch to release it. The fan comes on once the exhaust is open (preventing the fan from running when it is closed). The USB and audio are also opened the same way, with a touch release.
