And above you see the finished case. Even with the Antec case badge installed. Naturally you can arange any drives any way you wish. Black drives would look good but the normal beige ones look just fine, plus they are easier to see under low light. The top removable front bezel is plastic while the rest of the case is steel. It is very well-built and sturdy. Being so well built, sturdy and made of steel makes this a heavy case.
The Bad~
As with anything there will usually be some bad points. First thing I didn't care for is how the power supply holder covers a little bit of the intake fan. Since it still has most of it uncovered I doubt it has an adverse effect, especially considering another exhaust fan is just below that. But still I can't help but think a better holder would have been made. However, since Chenming manufactures this case for Antec, they didn't have much choice. No removable motherboard tray, but I've never cared for them anyway.
Actually there is just one more thing some may not like, but it's really not the actual case. It's the TruePower power supply. And many will consider this a positive. Since the power supply fans are thermally controlled and meant to be vertually silent, that doesn't make the airflow leaving the case and power supply very powerful. This makes for a slightly warmer case temp. But the good thing is, you don't hear anything. It's a tradeoff, "silence vs noise".
The Good~
The second point above may be a "good" point to many because it's very quiet when you use all of the features and have all the normally noisy fans using the thermal control. As system temp gets higher the fans turn faster. Usually when temps get higher is when one is doing something like playing a game or watching a DVD movie, then any noise isn't a bother. So those of you who are annoyed by noisy fans this is a "must case" for you. You will be very pleased. On the same token, you do not have to use the "fan only" connectors. Connect any fans you prefer running full speed to the regular connectors, and they will run at their normal speed. Having a choice is very nice.
The large air vents. I can't rave enough about these. Of course most cases I've had before had those tiny holes to allow air in or out so this is a very pleasant addition. And even the ones in front, no tiny air vent for the front fans to bring air in here, these are very open yet with the removable and washable air filter helps to help to prevent dust build-up inside. Major kudos here!
The removable and locking side panel, the toolless 5.25" bays and removable top bezel make for removing and adding things just so easy. the case has four led's in the front so you have two extra ones for whatever you wish to connect them to. Case modders love lights and you guys will be pleased with this addition. The side fan blows in directly towards where an AGP video card would fit, helping cool down those hot video cards. The case I received is metallic-grey color and I must say it's very pleasing on the eyes. And the overall case design is not the usual blah design most cases have. It has "style".
Conclusion~
Antec has made a very nice case and one that anyone would like. Not only being very well built and sturdy it has so many excellent features that help make life so much easier on the person who is always tinkering with their system (someone like me). This is a case that would look nice in any environment from home to a business and one that would help keep the insides cool with all of it's assorted fans and fan options. It's very easy to work with and what can I say about the included TruePower power supply. This addition will make your word so much quieter. “Quality” is one word to describe this case.
I'd like to thank the good people from Antec for making this review possible. Direct link to the Antec PLUS660AMG case. Considering all of it's fine features, how well it's built, the most excellent power supply and the emphasis on "quiet" I give this fine case our most esteemed:
