With case modding becoming more and more popular it makes sense for case manufacturers to inclde a pre-made side window. With this you can always keep an eye on your system peripherals and show them off to friends. And hey, it sure beats the boring blah cases from yestertear doesn't it. Also notice the black lever which also happens to be lockable. You just slide the lever towards the front and the side panel swings out.

The lower portion of the side window you'll notice a streamlined design. That also acts as a grill for any 80mm fan you place there. As with the others, any fan you add just snaps into place. Also notice the strategic location of that side fan. It's directly over where an AGP video card goes. Have the fan suck air in and you add very good cooling for your video card. Overclocking anyone?

Like other Antec cases, installing cd roms, cdrw's etc.. is basically screwless with the included drive rails. Though you do need to initially attach those drive rails to each side with screws, afterwards they simply slide into place till you hear a click. Press in on the metal clips and your drives slide out easily.

Now how about that! I love that front locking door. Gives everything a more neat and professional look. Not to mention since the front and side panel do lock, that makes things more secure for something like an office environment. I only have beige drives but if you have black ones they will look even better in this case, so others who have them tell me.
Final Thoughts~
There are places to fit a total of five 80mm fans in the PlusView1000AMG. Two in the lower front (not included) , two in the rear (included) just below where a power supply (not included) goes and one on the side window directly above where an AGP video card goes. Add that all up and here you have a case that supplies excellent cooling and airflow.
You need space, with this case you have space. You can fit up to four drives in the 5.25" bays. I have a DVD drive, a cdrw and a rhoebus in mine currently but I will have use for that fourth slot very soon. The lower air-cooled drive cage can fit up to three hard drives. If a fourth is needed then you can fit it in the above drive cage, where the floppy drive goes.
Since this is a full-tower steel case it IS heavy. If you intend to carry this around wherever you go, then think of that Weird Al song: "livin' with a herrniaa". Yes, it is heavy. It is meant to stay where you place it and trust me, it will. If a tornado came through your house and only one thing was left standing, it would be this case. *Note: The front door is made of plastic.
Pros~
- Great cooling with places for 5 fans
- Front air filter
- Front grills are large enough for proper air flow
- Rear and side grills also allow proper air flow
- Has the space for about all you'd want in a system
- Lockable side panel and front door
- Excellent side window
- Front USB and Firewire ports
- Removable 3.5" cages
- Very well-built
Cons~
- It is heavy
- No power supply is included
Add it all up and Antec has another winner! The only bad thing I could think of is the weight. But if you need something that will always be stationary then this is a very good choice. The side window covers the main system components and not the ugly metal of the drive cages. That is also a plus. Who wants to look at ugly metal anyway. No power supply is included so you can add the one that fits your needs best. I use the Antec TrueBlue480 in this case.
Thanks goes out to Antec for supplying the PlusView1000AMG for this review. Direct Link to the PlusView1000AMG.
