Final Words:
The Antec PP-412X, as shown by the test, is a solid power supply. It would make an excellent upgrade those who have systems that are very sensitive voltage fluctuations. The PP-412X, even with the many devices run during our test, was able to maintain stability and keep fluctuations to a minimum. The fact that it can handle the enormous power demands of newer Athlon systems and is also P4 ready means you won't have to change power supplies should you change your computing platform. The power switch that is now FINALLY included on the unit is truely and godsend. The added 2wire/3wire signal connector for the motherboard now provides consumers a way to monitor the powersupply fan. Having 400W in your system only helps futureproof your system for upgrades later down the line.

There were only 2 things I had a problem with on the PP-412X. The first problem - for such a powerful unit, there sure wasn't enough connectors. Consumers who have loaded full towers with more than 6 devices will find themselves digging around for power cable splitters. Luckily, these aren't expensive. Another problem was the noise level generated by the PP-412X. This unit is at least as loud if not louder than the Enermax. What's worse it the Enermax actually has 2 fans and the Antec has 1. Now that Antec has such as solid design for power supplies, I think the next thing they should work on is a quieter fan for their units.

Overall though, this is a unit I like very much and would recommend to others for their upgrades or system builds. Antec showed that they do have an ear for customer suggestions. Who knows? Maybe soon we will, in fact, see power supplies that allow for temperature monitoring. Keep up the good work Antec!
