Ever since Thermalright came out with the SK6 they have been "Kings of the Mountain" as far as heatsinks go. The SK6 was one of the first great performing heatsinks for those blazin' hot AMD processors and it was easily the most popular among overclockers and anyone who simply wanted the best. Months afterwards various other heatsink makers came out with very good products that were just as good and some were even better than the SK6. Not to be outdone, thermalright soon followed with yet another great performing beast, the immortal AX-7.
With the possible exception of the Alpha 8045 and the Swifttech heatsinks, the AX-7 was still king of the jungle. But then Thermalright first introduces the SLK600 which fits a 60mm fan, followed soon by the SLK800, which fits either a 60, 70 or 80mm fan. How do these all solid copper heatsinks perform? Let's find out shall we, and we'll even compare them with the aluminum and copper AX-7 all using the exact same silent fan!
