*Above you see the tri color cathode which is red, green and blue. These new versions are thinner, up to 50% brighter than earlier versions, cooler and longer lasting. According to the makers anyway. No doubt they are thinner, cooler and brighter. But one of the best features of these new cathodes is they come fully assembled and with the inverter in a plastic case for a far neater look. Not to mention safer. The other ones not covered always had me being very careful so not to cause a short. Now that worry is long gone I am very pleased to say.

Everything you need is included inside the package. Since it is already assembled and no further trying to figure out what goes where, you can simply concentrate where you want the light. I suggest trying various locations first to see where you want it. Then you can use the enclosed velcro to hide the inverter and the included mounting feet to secure the cathode where you want it. Simply peel off the backside of the mounting feet and stick them on where they would fit on each end of the cathode (picture above on right). Then insert the tie strip and secure around the ends of the cathode. Plug it in to an available power supply connector and you are all set.

You can add a SECOND Cathode!
Above you see the inverter, switch and the power supply connectors. If you wish to use the switch you will need to drill a hole for it, unless of course you run with no side panel on. Good places for the switch are the rear of the case or a front floppy or cdrom drive cover. That is if you wish to control it being on or off. Now here's a very interesting feature. Inside that plastic case is the inverter. All you do is pry it open and you can connect a second cathode! See picture below, a second cathode plugs in on the far left at the top. You want light then let there be light! Put one on the inside top of your case and one on the bottom, or make cool designs. SVC sells a cathode only for as low as $5.99.
