Modding cases has become a focus for many pc enthusiasts in the past months, and many companies now offer a wide selection of products to satisfy the hobby. SVC is one such company, providing a wide variety of products, two of which are reviewed here. A staple to a case modder is lighting, and both of these products give plenty to go around. A red and blue LED 80mm case fan and 12" red cold cathode tube gave me the chance to bring my plain Antec 1030B tower case a little closer to modern times. Read on to see installation and performance of these products.

Installation:

I installed the LED fan first. The review package did not contain the 3-pin to 4-pin adapter mentioned in the product information, so I plugged the fan into a free motherboard 3-pin header. I chose to use the fan as an intake for the Antec 1030B case I tested with. Installation was simple (as expected), simply snapping into place in the front of the case. Screws are included if needed, depending on your case design or location chosen.

The cathode tube required a bit more to install properly, but was still simple and completed in under 5 minutes. The only difficult part of its installation is deciding where to put it (bottom, top, or side of your case...but that is purely personal preference). I chose to install it on the bottom of my case.
