Already the undisputed king of cooling for AMD processsors, Thermalright has released another beast that is intended to be the best. Even better then their already cooling kings, the SLK900/947 versions. Talk about not resting on their laurels.
So why release another new heatsink when they already make the best? Thermalright has always done this practice as it assures them staying on top. And for one thing it's to introduce 'heat pipes' to the illustrious Thermalright line of heatsinks. Will this addition make the SP97 the best of the best and even top their own kings, the SLK900 versions along with the best from the other heatsink makers? We will find out boys and girls and we shall see if the SP97 is either naughty or nice.

Aside from always making the best heatsinks, Thermalright also packages their heatsinks about the best too. As you open up the tough cardboard box you see the heatsink and 2 sets of fan clips fit around stiff foam. Remove that foam, heatsink and clips then you have another piece of thick foam which holds the other parts; the base plate, plastic protective sheet, all the screws you need including one extra of each piece and a tube of thermal compound.
