Antec TrueControl 550

Installation is just about as easy as any other power supply. The only difference is to also install the control panel in any front 5.25" bay. Screws are provided. Then connect the white connector coming from the power supply to the female connector inside the panel. You can see it in the picture above towards the far left side. Once the power supply is secured and the connections are all in place, then this completes the install.

Since the control panel fits in a 5.25" bay it also doubles as a place you can fit something else like a hard drive. It has air vents in the front of the panel but no fan is included.

The above picture shows how the control panel looks inside a LanBoy case, while you can see a closeup of the actual controls below. The controls are very simple. On the left side is a removable tool which is used to control the voltages. It snaps in, and just pops out with a little effort. On the right side is the fan controller. This not only controls the fans in the power supply but also controls any fans you have connected to the two "fan-only" connectors. Not temp controlled, you control the actual speed.

To prevent accidental adjustment of the voltages, where you do the adjusting for the +12v, +3.3v and +5v is all recessed. You can move your fingers right over those controls and nothing will be changed. You must use that included tool to make any adjustments. Or a precision screwdriver will also work.

Take a look at the back of the TrueControl in the first picture above, notice anything different? Remove the cap and you find an actual external molex connector. Now what the heck can this be used for you may ask. Some suggestions are external fans or cathodes (lights). Frankly, this has me at a loss also but I know some of you modders would have use for this feature.
