Thermaltake Volcano 7+

Thermaltake has never been known as the "Elite" of heatsink makers but they have always made very good and servicable cpu coolers. The Volcano II, Volcano 5 and the Volcano 6cu all have their fans and all do an adequate job for most system builders but not overclockers. Then Thermaltake came out with the large and cool-looking Volcano 7. It even had a temperature controlled fan which ran faster as the temps got higher. Bad thing about that was the temp control was at near the top of the fan so it really gauged the case temp and not the actual cpu temp. Still, it was a step in the right direction. The V7 is mostly aluminum with a copper base. Even though the V7 has its fans it still lagged far behind cooling-wise as other heatsinks such as the SK6, Vantec, Dr Thermal, Senfu and most recently the HCC-001, Cak II and the AX-7. So what does Thermaltake do, they make a version of the V7 all solid copper and give it a 3-speed fan and call it the Volcano 7+.
