Final Thoughts and Conclusion
One fantastik idea and one most eggselent looking heatsink makes me really want to love the Volcano 7. Looks-wise it has no peers, bar none. The Senfu is close though but this just looks awesome! Now we have another part we can show off. If it'll fit your motherboard then the Volcano 7 will cool you well. It isn't the best that's available but it's certainly no slouch at all. Although I admit I was expecting even better performance especially considering the fan specs and the size. Even though the temp sensor isn't in the best place it still works, if your case is closed anyway.
pros-
- great looks and design
- included temperature sensor for temp controlled fan
- it's big, but very easy to install
- cools those hot amd cpus just fine
- not as heavy as it looks
- I love the chrome, and did I mention I love the overall looks
cons-
- being so large it may not fit all motherboards
- gets noisy under load
- has just one clip
- I still wish the temp sensor was nearer the cpu
With our PCA rating scale I give it a:
< 8.5 out of 10 >
Many thanks goes out to Weller Chen at ThermalTake for sending us this fine cpu cooler for review. By far the best yet from Thermaltake.

*Please note: Your temp readings may vary depending on your system setup, the ambient temp, how you apply heatsink compound and even how cold your floor is. If you keep it on the floor as I do.
