Installation wasn't any different that any other power supply out there. The cables all have more than enough length to reach stuff in the bottom of this Chieftec case. One thing however that I'd like to point out is the 24 pin to 20 pin adapter. Its really big and bulky and to me is kind of ugly looking. You would think that the same sort of adapter could be built minus all of the wire that it uses. I don't see any reason why an adapter say 1.5" long couldn't be used that had 24 pins on one end and 20 on the other and make it a solid adapter so it isn't so hideous.

Testing...

Now this review wouldn't be complete unless we thoroughly tortured this powersupply now would it. To read the voltages Motherboard Monitor 5.2.2.0 was used. Tests were done at default CPU speed at both idle and Loaded with Folding@Home and also overclocked. I'm mainly looking at what the 12v and the 5v rails are doing. They are the most crucial part of the system and are the main 2 voltages that everyone seems to look at when shopping around for a new PSU.

System Specs...

This first set of results is at default speed. Idle is on the left and load is on the right.

The second set of results is overclocked. Again Idle on the left and load on the right.

Conclusion...

As you can see the more demand put on the power supply the lower the 5v rail drops. At default speeds it stays within its 5% tolerance. But when overclocking it dipped below that 5%. Now you see the list of stuff that this PSU is running so that could very well be a factor as to why the 5V rail drops like it does when overclocking. It very well might not be enough power for this system, but it has ran it very stable with no random reboots or lockups that so commonly happen when there is a weak 5V rail.

Overall I feel that Vantec has done one heck of a job with the stealth line of Power Supply's. With their black "stealth" look, the control of the fans, and plenty of connectors to power anything that you can throw at it, you can't ask for a nicer supply. This one will definately keep a residence inside of this Chieftec case for a while!

A big thanks goes out to Scott over at HighSpeed PC for sending us this fine PSU for review. If you would like to purchase one for yourself you may do so here.
