Testing:
Once installed, the big question about the Innovacool remains – is all this apparent technical goodness a predictor of performance?
The test rig consisted of the following:
- Iwill KK266 motherboard.
- 1.2 gig T-bird overclocked to 1.4 gigs. 1.91 volts core voltage.
- Supreme Mag Drive 350 inline pump.
- 1986 Mustang Heater Core (approx 7 x 8 x 2 inches copper core).
- 6 inch Comair-Rotron Major AC Fan ducted to push air through heater core.
- ½ inch tubing except where connected to adapters to hose leading into waterblock.
- Distilled water coolant with 2 oz. Water Wetter per gallon.
- 1 Radio Shack Indoor-Outdoor thermometer with modified outdoor probe next to cpu core.
- 1 Radio Shack Indoor-Outdoor thermometer with outdoor probe inserted in plumbing exiting waterblock.
- Radio Shack Thermal Compound in between block and cpu.

The actual testing consisted of test runs of one hour and fifteen minutes. The test system was started and run at idle for a half hour. Following this, the system was stressed using the Prime 95 torture test for another half hour. After the Prime 95 test, the system was returned to idle for 15 minutes. The ambient room temperature, cpu surface temperature, water temperature and cpu socket temperature as reported by Motherboard Monitor were recorded every 5 minutes. For comparison purposes, the author’s own homemade solution, the Lmandrake Ghettoblock, was subjected to the same testing.
