A Shut

Or Open
Case?
To find out how well this "Pop-up" blowhole actually works I assembled a basic system consisting of:
- Asus A7M266 Mobo w/Blorb mounted on the chipset
- Athlon 1.133Ghz CPU
- 256MB PC2100 DDR (Generic)
- TNT2pro 16MB AGP
- 20GB Maxtor 5400
- Teac Floppy Drive
- Pioneer 24X Slot Drive CD-ROM
- NetGear FA311 PCI NIC
- Ambient Temperature: 78°
A Blue Point® Digital Thermometer with External Probe was used to take reading from inside the case.

I loaded it with a basic Windows2000 OS and Prime95. I began by running the system idle for three hours with the blowhole in the down position.
The temps have maintained at a tolerable level, but let's turn up the heat by running Prime95 and leaving the blowhole closed.
Seems as though we've got the heat up, so let's open the blowhole and see what it can do.
