In testing both heatsinks I found where the cpu comes in contact with the heatsink is the same, practically exact center of the bottom and right in the copper part. Which is where you want it of course. Below shows how close it is to the capasitors on a shuttle ak31. Since it is flower shape the fins are angled upwards so it isn't nearly as close as it looks.

For testing these heatsinks believe you me they were heat tested very well. My a/c has been not working too well so room temp was a toasty 84-86 degrees! Of course room temperature does have an effect on cpu temp so please keep that in mind. Idle temps were taken 15 minutes after a fresh boot and light net surfing while load temps were attained by running the Prime95 cpu torture test for 45 minutes.
